Newcastle, Hancock Museum

Notes on distribution:
Most of the Museum's excavated Egyptian material comes from various BSAE expeditions, but there are a number of EEF donated objects in the collection: 38 ceramic vessels from Abydos, mainly 18th Dynasty, donated to the Laing Art Gallery in 1910. They also have a collection of at least 53 predynastic ceramics donated by Petrie in 1895, which were said to have been excavated in 1894 and to have been made by a ‘new race’, so they must come from Naqada. (with thanks to Margaret Maitland for the information)
