Notes on distribution: 
Most of the Museum's excavated Egyptian material comes from various BSAE expeditions, but there are a number of EEF donated objects in the collection: 38 ceramic vessels from Abydos, mainly 18th Dynasty, donated to the Laing Art Gallery in 1910. They also have a collection of at least 53 predynastic ceramics donated by Petrie in 1895, which were said to have been excavated in 1894 and to have been made by a ‘new race’, so they must come from Naqada.
