Cecil Harcourt Smith (1859-1944) was a British archaeologist and was appointed director of the Victoria and Albert Museum in 1909. He also worked at the departement of Greek and Roman antiquities in the British Museum and was the director of the British School in Athens (1895-97). It is unclear if these objects were destined for a personal collection or for an institution.
