British architect; he was the elder brother of P. E. Newberry; he was born Islington, London, 18 March 1862; he visited Egypt in 1881 and again in 1890-3 as draughtsman and assistant to his brother at Beni Hasan, and to Naville at Deir el-Bahri; FRIBA; he died in Ilford, Essex, 28 Dec. 1950.
