Potter (2020) notes that: "Perth Museum and Art Gallery was first instituted by the Literary and Antiquarian Society of Perth in 1784, which opened its Rotunda museum in 1824, making it one of the oldest purpose-built museums in the UK." It has less than 150 Egyptian objects.

Potter (2020: 58) notes fifteen ceramic vessels from the excavations of John Garstang (1876–1956), which were initially acquired by the Sandeman Library, Perth and a shabti from Naville's work at Ihnasya el-Medina (Herakleopolis Magna) 1890-91.
