The KwaZulu-Natal Museum in Pietermaritzburg was contacted in September 2016 in order to check if it held any material from the 1898-99 season. The Museum advised that although it had some material purchased in 1909 from Professor John Garstang, Institute of Archaeology, Liverpool from Abydos and elsewhere, it did not have any material associated with 'Flinders Petrie' or 'Egypt Exploration Fund' or 'Abadieyeh'
