Henry Martyn Kennard (1833-1911) was a patron of archaeology who supported the excavations of Petrie, Garstang and others. The majority of his share of objects from Petrie's privately funded excavations 1887-92, went to the Ashmolean and the Pitt Rivers Museum at the University of Oxford. His extensive collection of antiquities was auctioned at Sotheby's 16-19 July 1912.
