There was extensive damage to the collection due to bombing in WWII and objects were lost or their records but most significantly objects from the Mortimer collection (purchased items) were mixed with proveneced objects from the EES excavations. 

Notes on distribution: 

The Hands on History museum in Hull had Egyptain artefacts on display from Garstang's excavations in Beni Hassan.
