Henry Balfour (1863-1939) was a curator of the Pitt Rivers Museum in Oxford from 1890-1939. Balfour's name being used in the distribution records may just be a shorthand for the Pitt Rivers Museum or it might indicate that objects were given to his personal collection. The latter was then incorporated in the Pitt Rivers Museum.
