One of Petrie's financial backers, Kennard retained some mummy portraits from Hawara in his private colleciton. On his death in 1911, five portraits were among the items sold from his collection held at Sotheby's (July 12-16, 1912) and C. Currelly was successful in bidding for two of them; one he then sold to the National Gallery.

In 2019 the National Gallery deaccessioned the portrait and it was purchased by the Royal Ontario Museum (https://www.rom.on.ca/en/collections-research/magazine/a-romano-egyptian...)
