Bonn
Part of the University of Bonn, The Egyptian Museum was established in 2001. The collection dates back to 1820, but was largely destroyed during the Second World War. The rebuilding of the collection was led by Professor Elmar Edel (director 1955-1982) through excavations at the Qubbet el-Hawa, as well as donations and loans. The museum now houses approximately 3,000 objects.
